Bill White, a partner in the OffWhite/Salter Network and CEO of Offenberger & White, Inc., has been reappointed to the affiliate alliance of
Design Services Network (DSN), a technical marketing, research and development initiative of Emerson Climate Technologies, a unit of Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR).
The announcement was made at the DSN annual meeting at the Emerson World Headquarters, Chuck Knight Technical Education Center, Emerson Campus, St. Louis, MO.
White is a charter member of DSN, which is internally classified within Emerson as the intellectual property group or “skunk works” comprised of direct and affiliate engineering, product development and marketing experts from throughout the United States.
Under the DSN model, DSN affiliates are assigned to special teams projects at the direction of Emerson Climate Technologies. Conversely, DSN affiliates such as White use the Emerson network to assist in development of solutions for difficult technical or marketing problems client companies may not be equipped to handle, providing the OffWhite/Salter Network with a significant asset in the approach to integrated marketing for clients in high-tech industries.
Examples of DSN projects include compliance with new EnergyStar® and “green” initiatives, energy reduction, predictive performance design for telemetry and remote monitoring of products in situ, as well as design, sales training and education.
According to White, the alliance puts the OffWhite/Salter Network in a unique position among marketing and advertising firms. White explains, “We can tap into the technical, sales and marketing resources of a $21 billion dollar company on behalf of OffWhite/Salter clients anytime they need assistance in product development, testing, certification, validation, performance optimization or other highly specialized requirements.
“The resources of Emerson are enormous”, adds White. “Through the DSN alliance we have access to experts in industrial design, electronics, fluid and thermodynamics, refrigeration and refrigerant chemistry, noise and vibration analysis and many niche disciplines required to develop and market consumer and capital equipment products worldwide.”
Since assisting in establishment of DSN, White has participated in multiple projects for many companies, from small emerging growth businesses to Fortune 500 companies both in the USA and in Asia related to component branding and brand management, white papers, technical sales training and presentations designed to bridge the gap between technology improvements and the customer benefits such technologies make possible.
